SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT
1. In the state of Arizona, you may see a Physical Therapist at BODYCENTRAL Physical Therapy without a referral or prescription. However, you should realize that most insurance plans will not pay for physical therapy services without a written PT referral. Referrals for physical therapy can be written by Physicians, Naturopaths, Chiropractors, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
Note: If you do not have insurance or if you prefer for us to not bill your insurance, let us know and we will talk to you about our 'private pay' policy. Our Billing Office number is: 520-325-4002.
2. Once you have the prescription or referral for physical therapy, call our office at 520-325-4002 for an appointment. As a courtesy, our billing staff will verify your insurance coverage and discuss what your out of pocket expense, if any, will be. We will ask you some important questions regarding your insurance coverage. Have your insurance card in front of you. We will need:
3. Next, an initial evaluation appointment time can be established. We will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs. Our clinic hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday. Early morning and late evening appointments are in high demand, so please be prepared to be flexible for your initial evaluation, which takes longer. For the initial evaluation, plan to be in the clinic an hour to an hour and a half. Subsequent visits should take between 45 minutes to an hour.
4. When you come to the clinic, you will be asked for the following:
On any subsequent visits, it is important for you to keep us informed of any changes that you may have such as a change in insurance, a change of address/phone number, a change of doctor, etc.
During your visit with the physical therapist we ask you to dress in comfortable, loose clothing, ideally shorts and a t-shirt. For back and neck injuries we can provide a gown which has ties in the back for your examination and treatment. During this initial evaluation, the physical therapist will examine you, discuss your problem with you in detail and provide a mutually agreed upon treatment plan to achieve your goals. The treatment plan includes number of patient visits expected and interventions including manual therapy, exercise and modalities (hot pack, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis) if needed. All of our therapists are trained in manual physical therapy techniques to assist in your recovery from injury or dysfunction. Manual physical therapy includes the assessment joint movement, tissue restrictions and muscular compensation. An eclectic, hands on approach will be used to help you towards full recovery.
